You’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains, discover the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, spend two nights in the Dades Valley to explore kasbahs and gorges, and enjoy two nights in the Merzouga Desert with camel trekking, starry skies, and desert adventures.
The journey concludes in Fes, Morocco’s cultural capital, after passing through the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Depart Marrakech and cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (~2260 m). Stop at Berber villages before visiting Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic filming location.
Continue through Ouarzazate and along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to reach the Dades Valley. Overnight in a riad overlooking the valley.

Spend a full day discovering the beauty of the Dades Valley. Visit the winding Dades Gorges, admire the dramatic Monkey Fingers rock formations, and take optional short treks through the valley’s fertile fields.
This extra night allows for more relaxed exploration, with time to visit nearby kasbahs and meet local Berber families. Overnight again in Dades.
After breakfast, head towards the dramatic Todra Gorges, a paradise for climbers and photographers. Walk inside the gorge before continuing via Erfoud and Rissani, famous for fossils and traditional markets.
Arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset. Dinner, Berber music, and stargazing await you at your desert camp. Overnight in Merzouga.

Dedicate the day to exploring the desert and its surroundings. Set off on a 4x4 excursion to visit nomadic families, fossil sites, and the Gnawa village of Khamlia.
Optional activities such as ATV quads, dune buggies, and horse riding are also available. Enjoy a second night in Merzouga, either at your desert camp or in a riad near the dunes.
Wake early for sunrise over the dunes before departing north. Travel through the lush Ziz Valley and across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Midelt for lunch, then visit the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to Barbary apes.
Arrive in Fes in the evening, with drop-off at your hotel or riad.
