Tour Awa Tour is a small travel business run by a Moroccan Berber family. Your driver and guide will be Ismail Sabiri, a young Berber from the village of Ait Oudinar in the Dades Valley. He is highly experienced in leading 4x4 tours and excursions for international visitors to the High Atlas and the Sahara Desert.

Ismail speaks English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Tachelhit (Berber). He will take care of all your needs on the trip. We are always impressed with his kindness, good humour, and ability to solve any problem, large or small!

Ismail will share with you his first-hand knowledge of the real Morocco, its people, and their way of life, allowing you privileged insights into a world of nature, heritage and tradition. Many of Ismail's clients return time after time - including us!

4x4 vehicles

You will travel in an air-conditioned Toyota Landcruiser 4x4, one of the most comfortable, safe and robust off-road vehicles. This will enable you to discover areas of the High Atlas and Sahara Desert away from the tarmac roads and the tourist crowds. Each Landcruiser 4x4 can carry up to 6 passengers plus the driver.

Arrival and departure

Tour Awa Tour will take care of your arrival in and departure from Morocco. You will be met at the airport, and transferred to a hotel for your first night. The final night of your tour will be spent at a riad, with transfer to the airport the following day. If you would like additional nights for sightseeing in your city of arrival or departure, Tour Awa Tour can book these for you.

Accommodation

Accommodation during the tours is varied, and may include hotels, auberges (more traditional), Kasbahs or (in the desert) tents. You can even ask to stay in a cave-dwelling with a nomad family if you want!

Meals

You will be eating traditional Moroccan cuisine, usually in a hotel or auberge. Some days will include a picnic lunch. Please let Tour Awa Tour know if you have any particular dietary requirements. If you are vegan or vegetarian here's some information that will help you plan your food.
