Sahara Atlas Tours specialize in travel across the whole of Morocco: the Imperial Cities, the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert and the Atlantic Coast. We are fully-licenced for tourist transport, and have a wealth of experience introducing international visitors to our country.
We can take care of your arrival in and departure from Morocco, and organise your transfers from the airport. Any point of departure for a tour can be accommodated. We can offer you popular itineraries or help you plan a tailor-made tour – whether it’s a one-day outing or a longer tour – and arrange all your accommodation, meals and other activities such as trekking, cookery lessons and heritage site visits.
Tour, visits and program will be managed according to your wishes: 4×4 or mini-bus travel, walking, meeting local people, birdwatching and nature trips, trekking, mountain biking, camping, desert visit… we guarantee to surprise and delight even the most seasoned traveller! See our 5* reviews on TripAdvisor.
We are a small travel business run by a Moroccan family in partnership with a British couple. Our goal is to ensure an unforgettable experience of the real Morocco for our clients. Our philosophy is one of ecotourism: to work with Moroccan people and businesses in ways that will directly benefit the local population. We don’t just take visitors to see the way the nomads live in Morocco as a tourist attraction, we know many of them well, listen to their needs, and then assist them directly by distributing clothes, medicines and food necessities without taking administrative or overhead costs. We are also giving practical and financial support to develop the first ever professional creche for early years care and education in our region. Your tour price will contribute to these efforts.
For 4×4 tours, our lead driver and guide is Ismail Sabiri from the Berber village of Ait Oudinar in the Dades Valley. Ismail is highly experienced in planning and leading 4×4 tours and excursions for international visitors to the north of Morocco, the Imperial Cities (Marrakech, Fes, Casablanca, Meknes, Rabat), the High Atlas and the Sahara Desert. He leads a team of drivers with similar experience. They love their job, and our clients all seem to love them!
You will be allocated a driver-guide who speaks your language as well as Arabic, French and Berber. He will take care of all your needs on the trip, and share with you his first-hand knowledge of the real Morocco, its people, and their way of life – allowing you privileged insights into a world of nature, heritage and tradition. Many of our clients return time after time!
Lahcen Sabiri, Ismail’s brother, runs our partner hotel in the Dades Gorge, the outstanding Auberge Chez Pierre. Set in exquisite surroundings, with chic decor, tranquil gardens and a swimming pool, Chez Pierre is renowned for its high-quality cuisine – French and Italian fusion with hints of Moroccan flavours. Winner of TripAdvisor’s ‘Traveller’s Choice’ award, this is the best-reviewed hotel in the region, and an unmissable oasis of calm on your adventure. Spend two or three nights here to appreciate the beauty of the High Atlas. Guided hikes and other activities can be organised from the hotel.
